We have chosen the name for our Newsletter: “Over the Barrel”
With well over 100 submissions it was a very difficult task to pick a winner. There were dozens of great suggestions.
We selected “Over the Barrel” because we felt it best represented the qualities of the hosts and the direction of the newsletter: Fun, Informative, and Personal - Just like a one on one conversation you might have “over the barrel” with a wine maker.
Congratulations to winner Cheryl Cechvala of San Francisco, CA. Enjoy the Magnum of Sean Thackrey, Rossi Vineyard Red Wine - Orion - you earned it.

big mistake gentlemen… big mistake.
That’s an excellent choice! It’s non-obvious, yet clearly topical. The only thing wrong with it is that I didn’t think of it first. Or at all….
Yikes Jon! I am sorry you did not like our choice. FWIW, you guys came up with much better names than we could come up with on our own. Guess we are not very creative. I still have the list of alternative names we came up with before going with the name “Grape Radio”.
Hoping you will cut us some slack.
Jay
Boy, talk about…sour grapes…Nice choice on the newsletter name, guys.
Great name. Congrats to the winner.
Jason
Just be sure to send it to me in plain, brown envelope.

I very much like the choice. It has a nice, chummy (as in friends, not sharks) feel to it.
And, as always, I deeply appreciate that GR has not given in to the small-but-glaring (and, one hopes, temporary) fad of using racist or sexist insults and obscenities in the midst of wine-related discussion. Can’t wait for that weird wave to die out…
