With roots on Germany’s mid-Mosel River valley site from 1156, the S.A. Pruem Family have been commercially producing wines here for 200 years. The Winery is a founding, active member of the VDP, and since Raimund Pruem took over the management of this family-owned property in 1971, has established an international reputation for Riesling, and more recently Weissburgunder/Pinot blanc.

Leigh in the Cellars of Robert Weil

The character of Robert Weil Rieslings are heavily influenced by the mineral-rich slate soils of the Reingau region of Germany. Founded in 1875 by Dr. Robert Weil, the vineyards are planted 98% to Riesling and just 2% to Spätburgunder. With 65 hectares (160 acres) under vine, it is one of the largest estates in the Rheingau, and its vineyard sites include the best sections of the – Hill of the Counts.

Join Leigh Older and winemaker Stefan Bieber as they take us on a guided tour of this famous winery.
