The annual Auction Napa Valley is a wine-focused charity auction celebrating the wines, people and the land of Napa Valley. Several events are held over the course of three days, including scores of vintner-hosted events, a barrel auction, e-auction and a large no-holds-barred live auction. Since its inception over 25 years ago, this event has served as the model for modern charity wine auctions around the world.
Join us as we talk with Margrit Mondavi, Tim Mondavi, Geena Davis, Georg Riedel, and James Laube, to find out how important this event is to the culture of Napa Valley.

Thanks Grape Bunch, I have always wanted to attend the Napa Valley Auction but this event has been outside of my budget range. Loved hearing all the interviews and yes Geena Davis is hot. This is the best wine podcast by far. Love for to another wine videopodcast. G Jackson
Based on this show I think I am going to have to try out this Auction Napa Valley. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Do you guys have plans to cover the upcoming event? I would love to met the crew. Looking forward to the wine video next week.

Loved hearing from George Riedel who seems like a very nice guy. I attended a seminar a few years ago that he conducted and I must admit I was a sceptic. But they were right on - each glass seemed to me to make a huge difference in both the smell and taste of the wine.
You can easily do this test with friends that are non believers. I use Sav Blanc and the difference between there glass for that and some cheap wine glass is huge. Generally with the standard grass all you taste is the grass and some other off flavors but when you try the riedel glass the grassiness seems to go away and things seem to come together in much better harmony.
Thanks again for a great wine podcast and congrats on being selected by the James Beard Foundation I thinbk it is well deserved.

As usual a great pod cast. Just for the record, how much did those mag’s of SE sell for?
