What happens when you have comedian Dana Carvey open the 2007 Auction Napa Valley? Well, anything goes. “Okay, let’s see some hands on net worth. Anyone worth $50 million, raise your hands. We’re going to be relying on you a lot tonight. Thank God for capital gains,” said Carvey, and the show was off and running. It was without a doubt a hilarious opening to the twenty-seventh annual Auction Napa Valley, perhaps the best wine auction of its kind - anywhere.
Raising over $9.8 million from 45 live, 106 barrel, and 81 e-auction lots is no small feat. It takes skill, organization, and commitment. Join us as we talk with Bill Phelps (Joseph Phelps), Peter McCrea (Stony Hill), Michael Chiarello (TV’s Napa Style), uber-bidder Joy Croft, and a host of other luminaries during this first of two video podcasts, as we really get into what’s behind (and what’s in front of) the fabulous Auction Napa Valley.
You’ll think you were there.
