As an amateur wine country photographer and winery reviewer I found this episode particularly interesting. I never (or almost never) give scores or points but tend to focus on first-impression descriptions and my estimation of the quality-price ratio. Whether or not I purchased a bottle (or case) is a greater indicator of my opinion of the wine than a score. Things such as the weather, the beauty of the winery (or the woman serving the wine)can greatly enhance the experience and consequently affect one's perception of the wine and so this also must be kept in mind. Afterall, a Grenache rosé is a lot more appealing on a hot summer day and might get a higher score as it is being sipped on the patio than on a chilly February afternoon being sampled in a crowded tasting room.

Cheers!
